The Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections, through the Division of Probation and Parole, supervises approximately 2,200 sex offenders in communities across Louisiana. However, this is only a fraction of the individuals required to register and notify within the state.

The Office of State Police, Bureau of Criminal Identification and Information (the Bureau) is charged with maintaining a central registry of sex offenders and child predators.  Information on the purpose and history of the program, registration and notification requirements, and an offender search can be found at:  http://www.lsp.org/socpr/default.html.
